So there’s this kinda mantra in the industry about quantity supposedly flowing into “quality,” like, the result.

The standard wording: you need to pitch your idea 200 times and you’ll get conversion, or when you’ve surveyed 300 customers you’ll finally understand what’s what.

I’ve got the exact opposite logic. The more you’re grinding in one direction and you don’t feel any payoff besides emotionless rejections and all that, the more you need to change — and it looks like radically. Every rejection has its reasons. Understanding those reasons often leads to understanding the general principles of how this or that industry works.

And what I don’t get most is when these endless rejections are presented like, “just keep trying, someday it’ll work out.” There’s no connection. You should get used to the fact that without (successful) experience, luck is a bigger factor than persistence.

So what helped you more: persistence through a ton of rejections, or switching strategy and new attempts?
