So here’s the ultimate guide to cold outreach tactics, no “drop a + in the comments” to harvest your contacts, webinar subs and all that.
I’ll write it using an investor email as an example. You can map it over yourselves, I think.

1/ subject line — what you’re doing (we are doing commerce solution for gaming influencers) and if you think they’ll recognize you then add your first + last name (downplay how sure you are they know you, people get hundreds of emails a day and if you’re not personally talking once every three months with friends of friends then they don’t know you).

2/ opening is hi <name> then introduce yourself (first last) and add a 5-word track record: did Prisma, raised from, acquired by etc etc. No details.

3/ then show you’re following the dude or his work. Read your twitter and appreciate efforts towards bla bla bla, saw your last deal in bla bla bla. Then say like yeah that’s respect and it’s relevant to us.

4/ what you do in two sentences. We are building ai for dog seaters, this is a special device that helps bla bla bla. Got 3k users, 500 MRR some numbers. We Believe in this 1T market. Ai will change it.

5/ what you want from the person. We started fundraising. Wonder if you are interested. Please lmk if you wanna chat.

And zero links. Converts best for me. Passes any filters, I send from my personal email. Beforehand I try to find the dude on twi and comment at him there, but it’s optional. The whole email should fit on a phone screen with no scrolling. If you have substance like strong numbers and results always drop it into the “what we do” block, if there are request details add max one sentence.

Best response is a short yes “will connect with the team, when do we call etc”, short “no, not interested”. No in-between.
