Twitter’s on fire again. Or all the techno-optimists ran face-first into the California State Senate, which today pushed out this little topic (https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202320240SB1047) into the public (and soon probably to a vote).
The funniest paragraph is obviously this one:
"If not properly subject to human controls, future development in artificial intelligence may also have the potential to be used to create novel threats to public safety and security, including by enabling the creation and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, such as biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons"
This is basically a bundle of all the memes about Terminator and Skynet.
In short: open source and startups are gonna suffer and get regulated hard as hell.
Like, they’ve got examples in there about automating calls via AI and phone services, cameras at traffic lights, and other models you can use for that kind of thing (fraud, identity theft, etc.) — you’ll have to, so to speak, “check” them and get the company approved.

Это прям вот сборка всех мемов про терминатора и скайнет.
Если кратко - open source и стартапы будут страдать и регулироваться ой как жестко.
Например там указаны примеры про автоматизацию звонков через AI и телефонные сервисы, камеры на светофорах и прочие модели которые можно для такого(фрод, кража личных данных итд) использовать надо будет так сказать проверить и компанию допустить.
