Off-topic: right now I’m reading a curious little book by Hermann Weyl, “On the Philosophy of Mathematics.” Aside from the fact that I deeply respect the work of this scientist, who arguably had a hand in just about everything in math and mathematical physics, I’m generally interested in tracing the thought patterns from the revolution period in physics and mathematics—the early 20th century.
I noticed a word in the book that hurts my eyes—итти. Turns out, up until 1956 that’s how they wrote the verb “to go”—идти. Well then.
