Well, let’s start with one, as it seems to me, more personal question from the ones people submitted. Especially since I rarely talk here about any of my own decisions. Well, since the holidays are still kinda sorta going on, then sure.

“Why did you give up on being public?”

In reality it’s not like I straight-up gave it up. But overall — yeah.

Main principles:
1) It takes a lot of time, if you don’t know how to crank out content without straining. Content plans, editors, videos — all of that is hard for me. The most I can handle is a channel and Twitter sometimes. And even then, Twitter requires way too much attention to grow.
2) I’m an introvert and I just don’t need a lot of communication. Networking often turns into nothing for me. There’s almost no benefit from the fact that I personally talked with a ton of billionaires or unicorn founders — or I just don’t know how to extract any benefit from it. And yeah, it’s important to understand here that networking works like this: on one level of connections it’s useful, but when you’re way weaker in track record, for me it only works if what you’re doing is potentially, or in the moment, highly attractive.
3) I decided to dedicate part of my time to personal life and just resting. I keep playing online games, sometimes I watch movies/series. I don’t have all those stuffed calendars and I don’t understand why people brag about that on every corner. How packed your schedule is doesn’t say anything good.
4) On top of everything, I think you should share what you understand really well, when you can give a substantial comment. Unfortunately the quality of knowledge in the industry is very low. Most content isn’t backed by anything. A lot of it is just rewritten without understanding the context. I was taught at university that you need to understand what you’re saying, and even more so what you’re writing. And that knowledge costs a lot of time.

That kind of profile is called low profile. And once, traveling around business in China, I noticed that almost all the people who actually decide things prefer it.
