Lately I’ve been watching how the big founders of consumer social giants started doing their new projects. Whether it’s Kevin with his Artifact, or the guys from Vine with some SUP xyz bullshit during the NFT boom.
In short. There’s this persistent feeling that consumer social is like the news: you’re either in it, or you already don’t get it. The market shifts way too fast. And you can’t build new products off what used to work. I’ve seen 100M users myself.
And one more thing. I think it’s even more important. Basically everything runs on the founders’ motivation, and I don’t really get what it is for people who spent 5–6 years sitting in a $10M house and, overall, being bored (that’s often exactly how it is, I remember a conversation at home with the Tinder founder Sean Rad, literally said there’s fuck-all to do). Attaching a pic of the little house in Bellair from, like, visiting, so to speak.
